The news follows , which saw Capcom profits fall 56 percent.

Capcom also laid out a roadmap of strategic objectives it plans to execute in the coming year in an effort to make its business more profitable. The first arm of this plan aims to make Capcom more competitive overseas by "deepening global ties" between development and marketing.

A subset of this plan is to establish a new organizational framework for next-generation game development. Capcom called out its recently announced PlayStation 4 game----as an example of this how the company is already following through on this strategy.

Other profit-boosting initiatives Capcom plans to execute this year include launching "proven" titles in Japan, a market the publisher called "highly profitable." Some of these games include Monster Hunter 4, Ace Attorney 5, and Sengoku Basara 4.

Lastly, Capcom said it will look to downloadable content as a means to make its business more profitable in the year ahead. The Japanese publisher aims to release DLC to extend the life of major titles by strategically launching add-on content.

Also, the company plans to increase sales from downloads simply by making more games available that are delivered as digital exclusives.
